Former Physician Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Against 38 Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors have announced that a ex- doctor has been charged with committing sexual assaults against thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
The Grave Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of sexual offences â comprising some against children younger than 13 â between 2017 and 2021.
A senior CPS official commented, âOur prosecutors have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.â
The Investigation
These allegations follow what investigators described as a âcomplex investigationâ into reported assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
List of Offences
The charging documents outline the 45 sexual offences comprise:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
