Manchester United Poised to Sign German Forward Lea Schüller from Bayern Munich
Manchester United are on the verge of completing the signing for prolific German forward Lea Schüller on a permanent transfer away from Bayern Munich.
A Major Acquisition for the WSL Side
The forward, with six months remaining on her contract, has been a consistent goal-getter for her club and the national team. Having scored more than 100 goals for the German giants and found the net 54 times in 82 caps for her country. This signing is viewed as a marquee coup for the Women’s Super League side.
Departure from Bayern has been anticipated since she was seen holding back emotions while applauding the club's supporters following a win over Bayer Leverkusen this month.
It was reported in December that the Frauen-Bundesliga was set to lose one of its leading forwards. According to reports, the formalities for the move are now finalised.
Consistent Goalscoring to Strengthen United's Attack
The experienced striker's signing is expected to provide a significant boost to the team's attacking options. She has been highly reliable in front of goal in Germany’s top flight.
- Over seven straight seasons, up to and including the most recent campaign, she reached at least a double-figures tally of league goals.
- She claimed the Golden Boot in the 2021-22 season with a haul of 16 goals.

The acquisition of Schüller’s signature coincides with a period when the club appear to be gathering momentum.
Their recent performances include securing a place in the Champions League knockout phase playoffs in a seeded position and a victory in the League Cup quarter-finals.

- The acquisition of Swedish defender Hanna Lundkvist on a multi-year deal.
- The new deal for Japanese midfielder Hinata Miyazawa, a fan favourite since joining in 2023.
