President Trump Welcomes Families of Injured Military Soldiers to the White House

President Donald Trump announced on the weekend that he has invited the loved ones of a National Guard member tragically killed last week to come to the White House.

He mentioned that he conversed with her family and they were “devastated”.

Information on the Heartbreaking Shooting

Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a shooting on Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her comrade, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in serious condition.

Vigils across West Virginia have been held in their remembrance.

White House Call

The commander-in-chief said he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the parents of both individuals of the West Virginia Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a hard experience, come to the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” Trump told reporters. “And likewise with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Support

Community members came together over the weekend at a local school in West Virginia to honor Sarah.

Both they had been serving with the West Virginia National Guard as part of the president’s federal initiative to assist public safety in DC.

Paying Tribute to Sarah Beckstrom

“Sarah was the kind of student that educators hoped for. She conducted herself with quiet strength, a bright grin and a positive energy that encouraged those around her,” the principal, the head of Beckstrom’s alma mater, told the Associated Press. “She was kind, considerate and always willing to help others.”

Memorial arrangements for Sarah are still being arranged.

Officials have charged a twenty-nine-year-old suspect with one count of homicide and charges of violent assault while armed.

The tragedy prompted the administration to pause asylum processing and halt granting entry permits to owners of passports from Afghanistan.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a native of Martinsburg, enlisted in February 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, per the news agency.

He continues to receive treatment and is “in a critical fight”, the state’s leader the governor stated on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Attorney general Bondi stated on a news show that she planned to meet with his relatives.

Sarah, from Summersville, graduated from her high school in 2023 and joined the military shortly after, serving as a law enforcement officer with honor, per the military.

“She had a lot of goodness and she certainly had fortitude,” Morrisey told the gathering at the service. “Though her life was cut short, she has created a legacy that’s going to endure.”
