Sweden Squad Lineup: Alexander Isak Included Whereas Gyokeres Misses Out
Viktor Gyokeres joined the Gunners from Sporting Lisbon this summer
Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres fails to make the cut in Graham Potter's maiden Swedish national squad, whereas Reds striker Alexander Isak received inclusion
Gyokeres is set for further examinations this week amid worries he suffered a muscle problem in the Gunners's English top flight triumph at the Clarets on Saturday
Gyokeres was absent from Arsenal' Champions League win against the Czech side on Tuesday
Alexander Isak Makes Comeback
Isak, who has been sidelined since late October because of muscle issues, made the squad to play in World Cup qualifying games versus the Swiss team (November 15th) and the Slovenian side (18 November)
Additional England-based Call-ups
- Tottenham playmaker Lucas Bergvall, who is recovering from a head injury
- Magpies winger the Swedish international
These players are among Potter's England-based contingent selected by former Brighton, Chelsea and West Ham coach Graham Potter
Potter's Appointment
The English manager was appointed by Sweden first for an interim period in late October, under four weeks following leaving by West Ham
Former manager Jon Dahl Tomasson lost his job following Sweden's 1-0 loss against Kosovo on 13 October, an outcome that made direct progression in their World Cup group out of reach
Present Position
Sweden are currently last place in their qualifying group having only one point in four matches
Even if they don't manage to finish second, they could still take part in the qualification playoffs as a result of their performance during the previous UEFA competition
