Vince Zampella, renowned for co-creating the globally famous franchise Call of Duty, has passed away in a car accident in the state of California aged 55.

Zampella's death was verified by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, the video game company which he helped establish.

The celebrated game designer passed away following his vehicle was involved in a crash and caught fire on a highway in Los Angeles on Sunday morning, according to.
